Michael Critchley ("he", "the developer"), a non-corporate, independent developer, operates the web information pages and the Elect Blue mobile application (the "Service", "Elect Blue").

 

This page informs you of policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use this Service and the choices you have associated with that data. This Privacy Policy for Elect Blue is managed through Free Privacy Policy.

The Service collects several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve the Service, and improve your user experience.

Personal Data

While using our Service as a logged-in member, you are required to provide a certain amount of personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

• Current location

 

Use of Personal Data

Elect Blue uses the collected personal data for various purposes:

• Your address is required to locate your elected officials.

• Your location allows other users to verify that you are where you claim to be.

• Your email is used as a unique identifier, and also for password resets.

• Your name is used in your public profile.

 

Usage Data

The Service does not collect information that your browser sends when you visit our Service contact page or this privacy policy page.

The Service collects the following information in the background when you access the Service by or through a mobile device ("Usage Data"):

• Device identifiers used to manage push notifications

• Crash reports and other system-diagnostic logs

• Analytics information about number of user sessions and other usage statistics 

 

Use of Data

Elect Blue uses the collected data for various purposes:

• To provide and maintain the Service

• To notify you about changes to our Service

• To provide customer care and support

• To provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve the Service

• To monitor the usage of the Service

• To detect, prevent and address technical issues

 

Transfer Of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, will be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located in the continental United States maintained by Google Firebase. The Service can not guarantee that some information will be maintained by Google on servers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

The developer will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

The developer may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Security Of Data

The security of your data is important to the developer, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While the developer strives to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, he cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Deletion Of Data

Prior to Account Creation

If you have not yet created an account with Elect Blue (Email and Password account creation), then none of your data is transmitted from your device to the server by the Service. Deleting Elect Blue from your device will delete any data stored locally.

Users who have email/password accounts

The app does not currently support user logout or deletion, although this is scheduled for a future release. To request a profile deletion, please contact the developer by email at critchley55@yahoo.co.jp to request that your profile be deactivated and your profile information deleted.

To ensure that others cannot fraudulently request deletion of your data, all written requests for data deletion must include:

​

• Your login email
  *If your login email is not a mail address you currently use, please include a contact email.

• Your full name

• The address you entered to search for your local representatives (If you do not remember this, do another search and send that address). This allows the developer to check a data point in your profile to confirm the actual profile owner is making the request.

​

While the developer will honor all written requests for data deletion and will perform data deletions as soon as possible, database manipulation is not a trivial task, and deletions may take several weeks to complete.

​

Service Providers

Elect Blue uses a number of third party companies to facilitate the Service ("Service Providers"), to perform Service-related services or to assist in analyzing how the Service is used.

​

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on Elect Blue's behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Data Storage and Analytics

Firebase

Firebase is an analytics service provided by Google Inc.

Data Access

Elect Blue uses a number of third-party Service Providers to gather information about your elected officials. The following services are sent either your address or location via their private API in order to search their data bases for data.

Google Civic Info API

The Civic Info API https://developers.google.com/civic-information/ uses a physical address to find Federal Members of Congress and House Representatives.
